Hello mate, I'll be taking on this review. I'm sure I'll be done within the next se7en days. Oh by the way, I also have an article awaiting reviewal, please consider reviewing it. dxneo (talk) 02:37, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for taking this on! Excited to work with you Locust member (talk) 02:58, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is very short for an EP, album or compilation of tracks. Let's dive in.

Prose

Quick facts + credits
  • Why are there no producers on the credits, but they are in the infobox? I noticed on Apple Music there are also other songwriters, but do not see them here.

Not sure what you mean. In the Track listing section the songwriting and production credits are there. The Personnel section is just for technical work. See good articles Wallsocket or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is that the GA reviewers thought the personnel was clean because it's actually always clean. So, looking FAs like Red, I really think you should add the rest of the credits. dxneo (talk) 23:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you're right. Added them. Locust member (talk) 00:08, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Background and release
  • The EP is named after a street in North Carolina. ===> The EP was named after a street in North Carolina.

  • Cypress Grove was recorded in a week == do you by any chance know the precise days, or month and year?

Unfortunately I do not, the source only states that it was recorded in a week. I tried looking for an exact time but I couldn't. The only thing I know is that it was recorded in 2020 because that's when Glaive started making music, and this released in 2020. Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Might have been recorded a year earlier and released a year later. It's okay, let's leave it like that. dxneo (talk) 23:07, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • The EP was released by Interscope Records on November 19, 2020. == why bury the lead and place such important information at the bottom?

Not sure what you mean here either. It is only placed at the bottom in the Background and release section (see good article Dariacore). In the lead, it is the second sentence. Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You really need to stop referencing other articles in such cases. This article is structured in chronological order. Therefore, I don't see why the release date and label are so far down. dxneo (talk) 23:09, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When going in chronological order, this sentence is rightfully placed at the bottom of the paragraph. Since it goes from talking about his career pre-Cypress Grove, and then goes into his recording process and why he chose the title, and then when it was released. Where would you like me to place it at? Locust member (talk) 00:09, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Composition
  • Though Glaive is categorized as a hyperpop artist == this is not necessary, artists switch genres from time to time. It's a common thing.

I do understand that, but I believe it is vital information. Considering he was described as a hyperpop artist with his singles, we should highlight that Cypress Grove, his debut extended play, branches out from that genre. Locust member (talk) 22:58, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly, if it's their debut project then you shouldn't say they are these kind of artists because this was their introduction. I think you should trim the sentence to keep the article concise and precise. dxneo (talk) 23:11, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Replace "the EP" with "Cypress Grove" or "it" to keep "the EP" to a minimum, without losing your way of course.
Green tickY Mainly changed them to "it", I left in "the EP" once or twice though just for variety from "Cypress Grove" and "it". Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh and the period (.) comes after the quotation marks ("). Not sure why you changed it when you approached the end of this section. Consistency is key.
Green tickY Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • "shapely melodies nearly as catchy as those on Top 40 radio." ===> "shapely melodies nearly as catchy as those on Top 40 radio". Top 40 radio is Pop Airplay, you might wanna link that instead.

Reception
  • Please fix the "period and quotation marks" issue in this section.
Green tickY Locust member (talk) 22:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll gladly pass this after you've addressed the aforementioned issues. It's a good one for sure. dxneo (talk) 23:14, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate you! Did all of your critiques except the placement of when the EP was released. Once you let me know where you'd like it then I'll change it and be done! Locust member (talk) 00:12, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. Word of advice, next time don't bury crucial information. I'll pass this now. By the way, I only chose to review this because it was short, you need to start reviewing other GACs or people won't touch your stuff at all. Best of luck mate. dxneo (talk) 03:53, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Verdict

[edit]

Good one, minor inaccuracies here and there, but they can be fixed in a couple of minutes. I'll put this n hold while I wait for the nominator to address the issues. dxneo (talk) 16:21, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
