Cannibalism

[edit]

I don't think it is appropriate to highlight alleged historic cannibalism in the second sentence of the opening paragraph. Especially since the subject of cannibalism isn't explored any further. Certainly no mention is made of the people of the islands not currently practicing cannibalism. This article - History of the Marquesas - refers to "(largely spurious) reports of cannibalism among the island's inhabitants". This is a sensitive topic and the article addresses it carelessly, perhaps even inaccurately. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 06:51, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Marquesan tattoo here?

[edit]

Marquesan tattoo is a short article that hasn't had much editing activity over the years, and this culture article is also relatively short. I believe merging the cited content here (and redirecting that article here) would strengthen this article. Thoughts? Dreamyshade (talk) 21:21, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
