Picture

[edit]

The picture for this article is not of Craig Mabbit, but Ronnie Radke, the old Escape the Fate singer. The picture was taken at a Vans Warped Tour. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.66.38.198 (talk) 05:25, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name Dropping TWA and Telle

[edit]

I notice someone keeps editing this to continually name drop The Word Alive's new singer and their EP, is this an attempt to get publicity for this band or what? This information is not important to Craig Mabbitt's article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.110.20 (talk) 06:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What band was he in or contribute that was deathcore (Haloblade345 (talk) 12:14, 18 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Partial Lock?

[edit]

In the history of the page, it has been under attack anonymous attacks by anonymous users, changing things like His Last Walk to His Last Wank, and calling Craig the biggest fag in the world. This is just silly and useless and I think the article should have a partial lock to ignore the anonymous users. --Raktoner (talk) 15:29, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Escape the Fate members and Picture?

[edit]

Where did Craig's Picture go? There used to be one of HIM. And would anyone else like to help me make Wikipedia pages for the other members of ETF?--Micsam77 (talk) 17:53, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Craig's picture was not legitimately obtained (you're not allowed to just take a picture off google or anything similar). And the other members do not need a wikipedia page because the band has not reached a large enough scale of popularity and success, as opposed to a band like Linkin Park.--Raktoner (talk) 23:03, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware you cannot do that. I just didn't know, what had happened. Thank-You for explaining. I was just thinking about starting them off as stub wikipedia articles, and then adding on following their greater sucess. I'm pretty sure, i'm still allowed to get a stub ready, and if and if anyone decides to take it down, then so be it.?--Micsam77(talk)

You can make template pages by extending them off of your username. An example would be my The Word Alive page.--Raktoner (talk) 00:24, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Craig Mabbitt

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Craig Mabbitt's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "epitaph":

  • From Falling in Reverse: "Falling In Reverse Announces Headlining Fall Tour". Epitaph. August 27th 2012. {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |date= (help)
  • From This War Is Ours: "Escape the Fate Recording New Album". Epitaph Records. Retrieved 26 April 2011. {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |1= (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 18:02, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just because an artist does not have a Wikipedia page, does not mean they are not important enough to be mentioned, as I've stated. It is not a rule that artists MUST HAVE Wikipedia pages in order to be mentioned, plus, that goes against many things that do show up on this website.

Also, look at other artist pages such as Hayley Williams. They have artists mentioned that do not have Wikipedia pages. With this logic, nothing at all on this website should be mentioned unless it has a page. You removing the artists seems more of a personal matter to you. Panic Reaper (talk) 11:20, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Only notable artists should be listed. Your example is poor as all but one of the entries was with a notable artist, and only one other wasn't on a notable album, which is now removed. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:19, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No. Wikipedia is meant to be informative, not just show samples. Now you're changing up your reasoning. Artists should be mentioned no matter if they're famous enough or a user made them a Wikipedia page, at least as long as they have a proper reference. Nowhere does it say an artist has to be notable or have a page to be even mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FB90:1104:6C3C:CDD0:C73:986B:C613 (talk) 17:44, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No. It's meant to relay important information. There are many guidelines (such as WP:LINKFARM and WP:INDISCRIMINATE) that state we're not to be an indiscriminate collection of things. We are to be a collection of important things. That he sang on Mary-Sue's vanity album because her dad paid Mabbitt to appear is not important. So we draw the line at appearances on recordings made by people or bands who are notable. If the list gets too long, we simply restrict it to notable albums and then notable songs. It's not a hard-and-fast rule, it's open, but notability is not open for discussion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:11, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I understand. But, if a song has a proper reference, shouldn't it be listed? Panic Reaper (talk) 13:59, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What would you say a "proper reference" is? A reliable, third-party source would be a good start, but it should show that the band, album or song are somehow notable. Otherwise, it's just an INDISCRIMINATE LINKFARM (caps are to point you to the links above, not shouting). Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:14, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
