Similiar films/cast.

Some reference sources conflate the first 2 Brescia sci-fi films into one, they don't seem to realize that they were 2 separate movies. Many sources (including imdb !!!) list Cosmos: War of the Planets, Anno zero - Guerra nello spazio, Year Zero: War in Space, War of the Planets, Cosmo 2000, Battaglie negli spazi stellari, Battle in Interstellar Space, Planet Without a Name and The War in Space all as alternate titles for the same film, which is ridiculous!! There are two different films involved here! I know because I have them both on dvd, and trust me, they are 2 completely separate movies. The problem is that vhs distributors in the 90's kept conflating the titles all into one movie, because the casts are very similar, and even the sets and costumes are the same in both films for the most part. But you'd think it would be fixed now that the Brescia films are all available on dvd now, and people can see they are 2 separate films. Very disappointing...(see this link for details: http://www.millionmonkeytheater.com/CosmosWarofthePlanets.html) 68.129.15.71 (talk) 18:57, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Series

[edit]

The 4 films in Alfonso Brescia's 1977-78 sci-fi series are: Cosmos: War of the Planets (1977, aka Year Zero War in Space), Battle of the Stars (1978, aka Battle in Interstellar Space), War of the Robots (1978, aka Reactor), and Star Odyssey (1979, aka Seven Gold Men in Space)

Here are the correct titles for the 4 Brescia space films that he made in 1977/78, in chronological order....I just can't find appropriate sources for them to enable me to list them in the Brescia article....but I will.

Outside being made by Brescia, are the films related in any way? Cast? Plot? That would be useful for readers. Outside this, it seems trivial. Context for the alternative names is also useful. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:32, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Brescia was hired to direct the 4 space films back to back simply to cash in on the release of STAR WARS. The four films used the same sets and costumes, and most of the same actors which makes them of interest to Italian film buffs as a series, although each film had a separate self-contained story. The alternative titles are absolutely useful, if anyone ever intends to track these films down on dvd, especially in light of the fact that many reference books (including the Curti book) have screwed up the alternate titles badly. Apparently he lists "War in Space" (1977) as one of the Brescia space movies, and "War in Space" is a Japanese movie! imdb conflates the titles of the first two films together, making them appear to be all alternative titles for the same movie, which is patently wrong. Without the alternative titles, one could never hope to track down these films on dvd.68.129.15.71 (talk) 20:13, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up

[edit]

I've attempted a quick clean up, removing the critiques and comparisons to other films in the plot, formatted the infobox and lead to match and moved other bits of information around. I have found some more information form Italian sources that should help enhance the article. Andrzejbanas (talk) 05:18, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong declaration

[edit]

Still, this film is wrongly interwikied, and carries the wrong Italian title. Actor Walter Maestosi appears in "Battaglie negli spazi stellari", not in "Anno zero - Guerra nello spazio", to which this article here is still connected. Si! SWamP (talk) 23:59, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Why is this in the category "public domain"? Yann (talk) 18:17, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
