The Peninsula of Inishowen in Donegal was fought for by the Dochartaigh (known modernly as Doherty, Daugherty, Docherty, Dougherty, etc.) clan who were then given the titles as Princes of Donegal.

Nonsense, you are wrong. No reason to title people "princes" of an area far away. Area's name was Tir Conail in 1400's, Donegal was simply an area in S of Tir Conail far away. Princes of Donegal was a name later in use, after area became a county, for someone else.

The above comment wasn't added by me, no matter what the bot thinks. It was added by User:72.85.217.76, but the edit accidentally broke the WikiProject box by removing the opening curly brackets. I reverted the edit, mistakenly thinking that's all the edit had done, realised that I'd reverted a comment and restored it. --Nicknack009 (talk) 23:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
