[edit]In case the links go away, here's the print information for some of the online articles I used in this biography:
- "Older sister sacrifices for baseball dream" by Michael Corbo, in the June 8, 2001 edition of the St. Petersburg Times.
- "The book on Charlton Jimerson" by Kirk Kenney, in the June 25, 2001 edition of The Sporting News.
Hope this helps. -Colin Kimbrell 16:41, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Custody info
[edit]I think the fact that Jimerson's brother was formally assigned custody of him during his teenage years is sufficiently encyclopedic that it belongs in the article. It's a matter of public record, it's cited, and it was an important formative influence on him during his adolescence. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 13:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- The "disputed" sentence is an important part of the article. Things can never be too-well-cited, and the sentence in question is crucial to the passage, in that it demonstrates that his parents were sufficiently poor that legal/governmental action was required. Without that official backing, it's just allegations. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 15:15, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- I would also like to object to the criticism that the passage should be removed because it is "not an action of Charlton". There are many things in the article which wouldn't meet that standard, including his selection in the draft, the awards he won at Miami, and the scouts' descriptions of his abilities. If we removed them all, there wouldn't be much of an article left. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 15:18, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
