I think I remember from The Complete Peerage that the eldest sons of the Dukes of Bolton were styled "Lord St John" and not by their fathers' higher titles. Can anyone with access confirm this? Opera hat (talk) 14:31, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citation for style as Lord Winchester after 1699 but still none for Lord Wiltshire. Opera hat (talk) 01:24, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
According to TCP, the 2nd Duke used the title of Earl of Wiltshire while heir to the Marquessate of Winchester (before the creation of the Dukedom), but I can't find a cite for the 3rd Duke's use of the title as heir apparent to the heir apparent. Choess (talk) 02:25, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
