Infobox
[edit]There is a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Clinical_medicine#Infobox_Help about an infobox format for hospitals, and Template:Hospital is being tested/demonstrated on this page. It may change over the next few days, so if you have any comments on what standard fields should be included, or how it should be formatted, your comments are welcome, and your patience is appreciated. --Arcadian 03:01, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Celebrities
[edit]I question the need to list: a) celebrity patients b) their maladies LorenzoB 18:57, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
This is NOT an article listing famous patients of Cedars-Sinai. If you want to do that, create a separate list. Thanks. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 23:30, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Celebrities Seconded
[edit]This article is barely more than a trivia list of celebrities. In addition, there's a bulleted list and another paragraph above listing yet more names -- some of which are duplicated. There is very little other info in the article about the actual hospital. The article is little more that gossip. It is E! tabloid trash - perfect for Wikiality, but would never fit into a real encyclopedia - or any other publication of any note. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.140.187 (talk) 01:24, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Needs a lot of work
[edit]This article has the following problems:
1) As stated above, the article does little more than list all the celebrities who have received care there. This is not relevant or important. A blurb stating that many celebrities have received care at Cedars-Sinai would be more than enough...perhaps you could list two or three. But that's all that's needed.
2) There is little important information about the hospital, and what little substance is there, is not cited well. Additional inline citations, along with additional, verifiable sources, are needed.
3) The article, in its current state, is also not much more than an advertisement for the hospital (albeit a very poor one).
4) Without sufficent citations, it appears that much of the article is based on original research, which violates Wikipedia policies.
5) The article needs to be cleaned up per Wikipedia standards, and really needs to be expanded. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 09:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I deleted the list of celebrities and made mention of the fact that they have treated many celebrities over the years earlier in the article. Much more encyclopedic. If someone could add a citation for this claim, it would be even better. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 09:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Religious Background
[edit]Please, pardon me but would it be so wrong to have some of the hospital's Jewish heritage mentioned, or at least the allusions its Biblical namesakes cast? Thecurran (talk) 00:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with that, as long as it doesn't go overboard, follows Wikipedia's policies on requiring a neutral point of view and has sufficient, verifiable inline citations -- Gmatsuda (talk) 01:49, 13 January 2008 (UTC).
- How about something like... According to the Hebrew Bible, the Cedar of Lebanon was used to build King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and the Biblical Mount Sinai was where Moses received the Ten Commandments. ...? The article already points out the amalgamation of "Cedars of Lebanon" and "Mount Sinai".--Thecurran (talk) 00:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
This is not an article about celebrities
[edit]It seems that there are a lot of people who are only interested in making this an article about what celebrities have been treated at Cedars-Sinai, and about which ones are most popular and should be the ones listed.
Keep in mind that this article is about CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER. It is NOT about any particular celebrity. Moreover, for the few celebrities who are listed, they should show how Cedars-Sinai has treated celebrities for many, many years. A recent edit replaced all the celebrities with ones who are popular now, which is a totally ridiculous edit. Of course, I don't expect any of the people who have been making such edits to care, or to even read this, for that matter. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 01:54, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, the article talks about the Cedar part of the name, what about the Sinai part? Where does it come from? What does it mean? why they called it this way? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.167.209.10 (talk) 16:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Nice article

Marijuana issue
[edit]Regarding this edit - The source is not neutral and the language in the edit is inappropriately biased. The edit is about a hospital refusing care to a person because of illegal substance use, and it seems that this has happened twice at the same hospital. There is some press about this, but the way the information is presented should meet WP:NPOV and the source given in this edit should be replaced with a neutral one. Perhaps this edit should not stand in its current form. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:23, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Expressionless Woman Incident
[edit]I'm surprised this wasn't included, as I have found references from several sources. Apparently in 1972 a strange woman (who didn't look quite human) was brought in covered in blood, and attacked and killed three people. I've added a few sources but anyone with access to the newspapers of that time can you find something a bit deeper? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.150.48.176 (talk) 02:40, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for telling me this was the hospital, I have been looking for the wiki page for this hospital to make an addition to the List of creepypastas for about an hour now. WEEBATRON1000 (talk) 21:34, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Exact location
[edit]According to the map, the CSMC is located in West Hollywood, a city of its own, not in Los Angeles (although the city of LA is a couple of blocks away and WeHo belongs to greater LA area). Am I right? If so, we should correct it. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.177.17.223 (talk) 20:24, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- The main Hospital Towers are in the city of Los Angeles but there are many departments located in nearby West Hollywood and Beverly hills. Please see https://www.cedars-sinai.org/locations.html BrianAlex (talk) 17:56, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

Non-profit status?
[edit]Article describes Cedars-Sinai as for profit, but according to Cedars' own website and IRS tax status, it is nonprofit? https://www.cedars-sinai.org/giving/faqs.html - here is their latest Form 990 filing with the IRS - https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/951644600_202206_990_2023060921423470.pdf - this clearly shows 501c3 status.
This article lists the funding as for profit, and not sure where that source is. 71.38.219.9 (talk) 03:33, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
