Here's a FindAGrave memorial (with photograph of gravestone) for a Carl Vernon Corley: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/172219138/carl-vernon-corley
I note that the full name is the same, both were from Jackson, Mississippi, and both served in the US Marine Corps. The only thing that doesn't match is the DOB. The source used on the page says December 15, whereas the memorial says December 8. Should we assume this is him and mark him as deceased? --Jkaharper (talk) 19:11, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was just thinking the same thing. I would mark him as dead. There are too many similarities for it to not be the same guy.I think it's really possible that his passing on was missed. I would mark him as dead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rfull (talk • contribs) 14:22, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rfull, I’ve just had a look through Ancestry and found his birth records. It seems that somebody copied it wrong in the first place and had they got it right first time, none of us would have been in doubt of the 2016 death date. I am on holiday right now but will amend article with all supporting evidence on Saturday when I return. Cheers --Jkaharper (talk) 15:46, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
