History
[edit]Inexperienced user here so sorry if formatting is bad. It would be nice to have a history section showing the establishment of the National Seashore. I had heard stories of a vitriolic opposition and found a reference in an article about former Member of Congress Tip O'Neil here [[1]] — Preceding unsigned comment added by HamTech87 (talk • contribs) 16:32, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
Map change
[edit]Hello all- I changed the map in the infobox to one I made at a regional extent, thinking it would be more informative than the previous one at a continental extent. The file is a png saved at 200 dpi, and is nice and clear at full resolution, but the text is fuzzy at thumbnail size. If anyone has ideas for improving it, please clue me in. I may get ambitious and add visitor center points if people think it would be helpful. Eric talk 20:34, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- Much, much better, thanks for the effort. The old map was utterly meaningless and added nothing to the article. If you want to add visitor centers for readers who view the file page, that's a bonus too. The National Park Service map is outstanding... sections of it have been cropped and used in other CCNS-related articles... perhaps we could use parts of it here? Thanks again. --Seduisant (talk) 00:55, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Right-o, added the visitor centers and Marconi. The Park's map is already linked in the External links section. Eric talk 18:21, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Area in infobox?
[edit]In a recent edit to the infobox, the area parameter was changed from:
43,607.14 acres (68.1 sq mi; 176.5 km2)
to:
43,607.14 acres (17,647.18 ha)
Do we have consensus that this is an improvement? I understand that the infobox automatically calculates hectares if left to its own devices with a raw number, but for an acreage this large, I personally think square miles and square kilometers conveys more meaningful information. Thoughts? —grolltech(talk) 02:43, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- Agree re square miles/km. Guessing there must be some widget in that infobox that by default adds a conversion from acres to hectares when no other conversion is specified. Don't git me wrong now, I love a hectare as much as the next guy, but I'd still vote for a revert. Eric talk 03:06, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
Accommodations/Visit Section?
[edit]In the POI section there is already a mention of a hostel. Maybe move this to another section, and add other locations where you can stay, particularly campgrounds? I know of at least one which is, if I'm not mistaken, is within what's considered to be the park.Kdiepholz (talk) 06:32, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
