They're so cute! Hmm... I'm not very good at collecting info though. Frodo 11011 02:35, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I´ve a really big problem with the picture in the article. It looks more like a Tiffanie than a Burmilla. Also the body is not like a real good Burmilla! Greetings from Germany. Sanquist - Burmilla --217.229.23.70 07:44, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is a Burmilla. It's my Burmilla. It came from a registered Burmilla breeder and from a family of show cats who have won various awards at cat shows. Really: it's a Burmilla. David Johnson [T|C] 10:10, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Tiffanies are never short coated. David's Burmilla is definitely a lot darker shaded than we are used to seeing in Blues, but it's a Blue nonetheless. SaucyWench (talk) 14:58, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article has some serious flaws, one of them is the mention of the Australian Tiffanie, which is known as a Designer breed in difference to the Burmilla Longhair which is the natural variation of the Burmilla. Only one body in Australia has ever recognised the Australian Tiffanie.

Regarding the Burmilla coats, there are only short (Burmilla) and semi-long (Burmilla Longhair). There is no recognised coat length such as plush. A cat with a "plush" coat would be seriously hampered at a cat show if it were competing against cats displaying the correct coat length.

Greetings from Australia. Burabylla Burmillas. (¬¬¬¬)(Sorry, have a keyboard problem and can't do the squiggly things)

I agree with you about the Tiffanie mention - but I've left it in there for some clarity since Waratah recognises it and it's definitely used quite a lot in the USA, albeit lacking in standards and professional recognition, and as you say it's as a designer look. Unfortunately for we Burmilla breeders the name Tiffanie is sometimes better known than Burmilla.
As far as plush is concerned I've made it quite clear it's not recognised. However, people can and have shown plushes on the show bench in Australia, and probably have elsewhere unwittingly. I suspect judges haven't penalised because the coat can sometimes just feel like a winter, thicker coat. Myself, and several other breeders I know, have produced these and it's a great pity they aren't recognised, because they're stunning cats.
Smoke is also not recognised by some governing bodies - and these cats are also hampered. I've been unable to show my smoke girl because her mottled black nose leather, along with her very dark colouring, would simply not benefit her against her paler friends. I added pictures to the wiki page of my cats. If you are wondering about getting Burmillas, you should. They are independent, playful, They are good with children and are very pretty. My two are grey with black markings. They are kind to each other and humans. It's really cute when they lick each others faces. Austinminers (talk) 02:59, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could you add some that are color and larger than 100x100 ? LegendLength (talk) 14:47, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Review of info needed.

[edit]

May I suggest that this page undergoes serious review, asap? Blue eyed Burmillas in some bodies? Chocolate synonymous with sable/brown? (And so on....and on....) Much misinformation is contained here. Comyncats

Um... it doesn't matter wether you know it's a Burmilla or not. it matters wether other people who come to this web site for information know. If your cat looks like a Tiffany to other people, the picture should be changed to a better representation of a Burmilla, wehter it's you cat or not.
