Glycosmis cochinchinensis is a recognised species per GBIF and POWO, but not by WFO. At what point do we decide that this article should be reinstated?  Junglenut |Talk  00:07, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Taxonomy

[edit]

This article should be at Buchanania lanzan (after POWO) or Buchanania cochinchinensis (after Indian usage) - see WT:PLANTS#Disentangling_Glycosmis_cochinchinensis_from_Buchanania_lanzan. A Flora of Maharashtra identified Toluifera cochinchinensis as an earlier name for Buchanania lanzan and made the new combination Buchanania cochinchinensis, which has been taken up in the Indian botanical literature. This may well have been an error - elsewhere there is a consensus that Toluifera cochinchinensis is a Glycosmis. The problem we have is working out who is right about the identity of Toluifera cochinchinensis. Lavateraguy (talk) 23:29, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
