I propose to merge Breed standard into Breed type, the former is an unnecessary WP:FORK of the latter, being no more than the official documentation that articulates the physical characteristics of a particular domestic animal breed. Both are terribly sourced so this merge would be accompanied by a complete rewrite. Cavalryman (talk) 02:36, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think I would rather see Breed type merged into Breed standard. While I don't have sources, from common experience I have never heard "Breed type". "Breed standard" is however...a standard...phrase in the southwestern US where I am. Thus my point: this should be merged into the more common WP:COMMONNAME. But I do agree that there should be only one page, no need for two separate (and poor) pages on what is basically the same thing. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 02:56, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That has been my initial intention but upon reflection I thought this was was better, a breed’s type is what makes a breed unique, whilst the standard is just the written documentation of those physical characteristics. I envisage a section titled Breed standard. Kind regards, Cavalryman (talk) 03:00, 27 January 2020 (UTC).[reply]
