Pore fungi?

[edit]

Is "pore fungi" synonymous to "Bolete" or is it synonymous to "Boletales"? --CopperKettle 10:46, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neither. Not all Boletales species have pores, or even stipes. In the professional mycologist world, the term "bolete" is now most commonly used as a synonym of "Boletales.M.E.Nuhn (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 16:33, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question about listed boletes

[edit]

\ It appears that the list is actually describing nonboletes, which are sometimes called boletes.

This seems a little confusing, when placed in an article as the only list, titled 'boletes', similar to having an article titled 'kings of Germany' that then proceeds to list archdoukes.

The value is still understood; but perhaps there should be three lists: actual boletes, non-boletes classified in the past as boletes, and boletes that have not been classified as boletes in the past.2600:1003:B12F:C55C:88C3:9D5E:3AF0:2EA3 (talk) 12:34, 21 December 2014 (UTC)mjr20141221[reply]
