Ziac (Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide) medication

[edit]

This Bisoprolol article really should mention (or link) information on the 'Ziac' version, containing HCTZ. (Bisoprolol/HCTZ) It's a diuretic addition to the basic Bisoprolol, and is a commonly prescribed version of the hypertension drug.

Side effects

[edit]

Under Side Effects, we are told this:

"(may be less common with those with ISA, see above)"

but there is no explanation above. So, what is 'ISA'?

Doping tests

[edit]

I'm unfamiliar with the culture of making changes, but I've found the following information to be incorrect:

09:00, 16 December 2007 Janke (talk | contribs) (2,259 bytes) (+ affects doping tests)

+"Bisoprolol will give a positive result in doping tests.[9]"

The reference is incorrect and I cannot find any literature referencing this effect. It should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.181.230.7 (talk) 14:22, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since beta-blockers such as bisoprolol are banned by many athletic organizations (see for example List of drugs banned from the Olympics), it seems perfectly reasonable to me to state that "bisoprolol will give a positive result in doping tests". -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:05, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
