Can someone please elucidate these references?

They're all just abbreviations and as a reader who is not an expert on the subject matter I have absolutely no idea what they are intended to indicate or how to follow up on them. Folly Mox (talk) 21:18, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK so every cite (and, indeed, the full text of the article) is verbatim the Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography (Template:DGRG!) entry. I've checked out the front and back matter of that work and, as far as I've been able to determine, the expansions of the abbreviated citations in that work (and they are all abbreviated) are neither defined in any standalone section nor when they first appear in the text, as if the Dictionary had been written exclusively for subject matter experts from the mid-1800s.
