[edit]

I don't understand this introductory phrase to the text under the heading Background. Someone who knows what it intends, please edit for clarity:

Due to Nigeria being around split between the Christian south and Muslim north

Ed8r (talk) 21:42, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is it clearer now? If not that the north of Nigeria and south is Christian is quite an important fact about Nigeria and it creates tensions between the groups. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 23:06, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the word "around". The remaining sentence is presumably what was intended. Art LaPella (talk) 23:46, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely. A communication failure on my part. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 07:25, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

Citations 5 & 6 need some help:

5^ "Africa’s troubled giant". The Economist. 8 February 2002. Retrieved 9 September 2010. (subscription required)

This reference should be available to all readers of the article. Substitute a citation to the print version, perhaps.

6^ a b c d "Manhunt begins after prison break". Independent Online. 9 September 2010. Retrieved 9 September 2010.

Following the link on this citation leads to a "404 Not Found" error. The reference is unverifiable by this reader. Samohtar (talk) 00:41, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
6 appears to be working now. I've set myself a reminder to check back at this page in six weeks or so to check its still up. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 21:49, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
the independent online source is still working. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 08:13, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Prison

[edit]

What is vague about calling it a "prison"?

I found http://www.prisons.gov.ng/pi.php which will tell more about this WhisperToMe (talk) 05:26, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've found the prisons name in one of the existing sources which is what I think was being discussed. So  Done. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 06:29, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
