Location of battle

[edit]

Question: Why is the Location of the battle listed as: "Place: Linn County, Kansas", when Fort Ridgely is in Nicollet county, MN.? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.107.164.130 (talkcontribs) 11:41, 22 June 2005‎

Casualties

[edit]

" 67 whites were there. Within a few hours 20 had been killed, and 10 captured. The remaining 47"

20+10+47 does NOT equal 67. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.69.65.2 (talk) 20:06, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Biased Article Needs Revisions

[edit]

Written from the white man's perspective. Use of words like "attacked" and "escaped" clearly favor white folk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.251.94.244 (talk) 15:33, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unbalanced

[edit]

I added the unbalanced template to this article. Only two sentences provide any motivation about the Dakota people, the rest of the article pertains to the white settlers and their army. This conflict involved two sides and that is not represented here.  oncamera  (talk page) 11:04, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Aftermath - Relevance

[edit]

There's significant discussion in the "aftermath" section of the hangings at Mankato, etc. That information is of course relevant to the Dakota War, but this is not the main article on the Dakota War. It is an article specifically about the Battle of Fort Ridgely. Does that information belong here? Jbt89 (talk) 05:03, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
