Cat type
[edit]The bagheera character in kipling is a melanistic leopard, or black panther. A mountain lion is a cougar or puma. I dont know if there are melanistic pumas. If there are, i suppose that they could be called black panthers. But the panther in the jungle books is a leopard.
However, i did not change the article because there is a chance that the artist who made the sculpture modelled it physically after a puma but named it after the melanistic leopard in the kipling story. 2601:182:D180:4E10:FD0A:8512:C0A4:49ED (talk) 13:32, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
