On the site theoi, Athos is reffered to as a mountain god. This is a qoute from Theoi:
"THE OUREA were the Protogenoi (primeval gods) or rustic Daimones (spirits) of the mountains. Each and every Mountain was said to have its own ancient bearded god. Mountains were occasionally depicted in classical art as bearded old men rising up from between their craggy peaks."
However, on Theoi Athos is not mentioned as one of the gigantes. Does this mean that the wikipedia article on Athos is wrong? Or does this mean that their is a discussion about the origin of the name Athos?

Does Nom nom at the end have to do with anything? Is this just a joke? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.174.116.71 (talk) 15:41, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Concept of Protector/Defender

[edit]

I'm wondering if this concept is traceable to the text of 2 Thessalonians 2:7, and if so, what textual traces or other documentation or artifacts are there to give evidence. Mdeadly (talk) 20:20, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could use better sources

[edit]

Theoi is decent (to a point), but ultimately we need better root sources to determine whether or not Athos is suppose to be a Gigantes or a deity.

It seems likely its leaning toward not being a Gigantes, far as I can tell this article is a hot mess.
