Season 2 Guitar

[edit]

Is there anyway to work the fact that he hasn't played the guitar in season two at all, into the article? JDDJS (talk) 23:10, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Arthur?

[edit]

I notice that the article claims Artie's real name is "Arthur", but doesn't give a citation for it, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable source that can confirm this information. Even a bit of dialogue from the show would do, though I can't remember any offhand myself.

Arthur isn't the only choice, of course. There's always Artemus or other less common names. If someone assumed it was Arthur, then only Artie should be listed, even though it's unlikely to be the character's birth name. If it is "Arthur", the source needs to be cited. Thanks for any information you can contribute. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:36, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find a source for Arthur, and can't recall it ever being said in the show (though I may well be wrong), but here's an article that says he was named after Arthur Stroyman, a friend of Falchuk's - probably worth a sentence somewhere in the development section. Ooh, great find. Did you notice the bit on the first page of the article where it says that "several" of the McKinley High students were named for high school friends of Falchuk? I've added a couple of sentences to the Development section in its own paragraph; when that gets expanded, it will probably end up in the "creation" section, assuming there is a separate one.
Even if Artie is named for Stroyman, there's no guarantee that this is his "birth" name, if Stroyman's nickname was "Artie" (and the article doesn't explicitly say, alas). Still, it's very useful information. :-) Thank you! You always come through with the goods. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:43, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Given that it's been a few days and no source has been provided for Arthur, I've pulled it from the lead for now. This discussion has reminded me that many months back, Falchuk wrote a series of Tweets about the acquaintances whose names he'd used in Glee - unfortunately, save for trawling back through his Twitter history, I don't know how those could be found, but this article does mention a handful of them - and has a few amusing comments from the "real life" Karofsky :) Frickative 22:01, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can't tell whether the full "Azimio Adams" comes from the classmate or from the Glee wikia (the article actually links to the wikia!), but at least that explains why "Adams" crops up from time to time in edits to his paragraph in Characters of Glee... Thanks for the additional pointer. I imagine that if we ever do get to meet Artie's parents, we'll find out what his full first name is...unless they were the ones who gave him the nickname.
