[edit]No self-respecting monarch is "hatted" at his "petassation". He his crowned at his coronation with a crown or coronet. This is a candidate to be moved to Archducal coronet. --Jpbrenna 5 July 2005 16:01 (UTC)
- I realize that the -hut makes it a "hat," but that sounds too plebeian in English. Maybe "Archducal headress?"
hm, i see your point. however, it really is called "Erzherzogshut", because there was also a coronet, that does not exist anymore however (if it ever did). i see that i need to write an article about the "Erbhuldigung" and what exactly went on there. because Austrian archdukes were never crowned, it was just a ceremony of hommage by the estates, where the "hat", if you like, was present as a symbol. you can look up Austrian Crown Jewels for more info... In Holy Roman and German Nobility one may distinguishes between " Krone - crown" and "Hut - headdress/hat". The Difference is a small part of ermine (Hut) instead of a golden circlet with jewels (Krone). There is no English word, you may use the German one or generate a neologism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.177.59.127 (talk) 15:51, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
