Gender of the bank robber

In the book, the gender of the bank robber is concealed until the climax, when it is revealed that it is the wife rather than the husband. The author clearly intends for the reader to assume the robber is male and to be surprised when the truth is revealed. The article introduces the Plot by saying "a woman robs a bank," but then uses "they/them" pronouns (which are not used at all in the book) as though the bank robber identifies as transgender or something. I agree the fact that the bank robber is a woman should not be revealed in the Plot summary until it actually occurs in that summary (since it is a vital plot point), so the first sentence should be modified to omit that fact. The "they/them" pronouns should be eliminated, with the term "bank robber" or "robber" used instead, as occurs in the book. 62.109.36.219 (talk) 11:19, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
