Art professor?

[edit]

@AMorar HPE: What does the Times article say about Neri being a professor of art? (It's behind a paywall for me.) This seems a little dubious and possibly like an error of translation. (Is there some sort of degree that could be called professor of art in Spanish? I checked rae.es and don't see that meaning there, so maybe my speculation is wrong.) Are there any more sources that describe where exactly he was a professor? If he in fact was one, presumably such sources would exist. I note that the Latino Leaders site says he trained as a professor, whatever that means (took courses in art education?). Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:31, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Calliopejen1: Thanks for taking a look at the draft. The Times article says, "The 51-year-old, who happens to be a professor of drawing and painting, has installed his creation at HPE's new headquarters in San Jose..." Other sources call him a professor of art as well. Ths one says, "Perhaps unsurprisingly, Neri is multi-talented: not only is he educated as an engineer, he has also trained as a professor of art and drawing at Norel Academy in Argentina." This one says, "... promised Neri, who is also a professor of painting and drawing". This one says, "Those formative years in Argentina -- which also included nine years of studying art on his way to becoming a professor of drawing and painting -- were full of what Neri calls "curiosity," "focus" and "sacrifices" that provided him with a rock-solid foundation for life." I hope this helps. AMorar HPE (talk) 21:18, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you have access to Neri, it would be great if you could ask him to clarify. I'm still skeptical that he has been a professor given that no sources identify where or when he was a professor, and one merely says he trained as a professor. (And that latter one says he trained at "Norel Academy" which has no digital footprint whatsoever either under that name or "Academia Norel". Not sure if it has ever existed.) I changed the text of the article to condense this section into something that seems more likely to be true. Calliopejen1 (talk) 00:10, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Your wording changes are fine. Thanks for your help. AMorar HPE (talk) 19:01, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
