efforts to legislate licensing requirements.

[edit]

Mention of ASID's controversial efforts to legislate licensing requirements are ommited in this article.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.182.163.104 (talk) 18:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes they do. Under advocacy. Besides, they don't legislate anything. State governments do. (I'm getting on my own opinion-sorry.) You're making it sound like a negative thing, when wikipedia keeps things neutral. Perhaps something could be put under a 'controversy' subsection. I say this because though they don't legislate (nor do they push legislation themselves), they do actively support state coalitions who want regulation. ASID may not legislate anything, but they are the leading proponent with dozens of pages on their website dedicated to advocacy and training state activists (http://www.asid.org/legislation). Any mention of licensing violates Wikipedia: neutral point of view and should not be included. Interior Design Professional (talk) 01:23, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How does mentioning licensing violate Wikipedia: neutral point of view?? The answer is that it does not, because this article is about an organization, and if they support licensing, and have been involved in pushing licensing, then it is simply factual. Please read the Wikipedia policies before you try to quote them.Nitack (talk) 12:58, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
