References
[edit]In response to Sulfurboy's comments, the article has been extensively revised with many new references added in the revision.
New references [1], [2], [4], [6], [8], [9], [11], [14] and [20] have been added, which are independent, reliable secondary sources about the subject. References [1] and [2] testify of the subject's contribution and notability as an academic. References [6], [9], [20] are official press releases of University of Milan and University of Cambridge, and talk extensively about the subject. References [11] and [14] are links to Wikipedia articles of scientific content, which mention some of the subject's key scientific contributions.
In addition, reference [8] and reference [19] are also independent reliable secondary sources (i.e. respected international scientific journals published by prestigious learning societies such as the American Chemical Society and the Institute of Physics UK), which talk about the subject's bio and scientific contributions.
All in all, the subject has comparable if not, in some cases, superior measures of esteem, impact and academic notability compared to peers of similar age and background whose bios are featured on Wikipedia, see e.g. the articles on Richard Nickl, Sarah Bohndiek and Tristan Bekinschtein. The number of independent secondary references in the present article is also comparable, or greater, compared to those articles.
