Notes
[edit]I think that CASM should merge to airline ticket. Sr13 03:10, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. CASM is a metric to determine the airline's costs. It has since been redirected to Available seat miles which makes more sense. I'm removing the merge proposal tag from this article. -- Hawaiian717 18:14, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
adding airline ticket sites?
[edit]Do you think sites that offer information on airlinetickets, airline companies etc should be added to external links? I.E. I wanted to add a link to 247airlinetickets.com. It doesn't seem to sell tickets, but it does link to a range of sites that do, as well as a list of airline companies and what sort of deals they have etc. Ripsore 11:34, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- No, an external link which links to a site about the history of airlines tickets or all the different models (are there?) would be ok. This site does not add anything to the article. Garion96 (talk) 20:23, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
External links removal policy
[edit]http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links
Such pages could contain further research that is accurate and on-topic; information that could not be added to the article for reasons such as copyright or amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks); or other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article for reasons unrelated to their reliability (such as reviews and interviews).
What should be linked
3. Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks) or other reasons.
11:18, 25 July 2007 Indio removed an external link on http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Airline_ticket yet it complied with the above and didn't contravene anything else. It provided further information both neutral, accurate and on topic that could not be added to the article for reasons of amount of detail.
The page title is Airline Ticket so the external link does indeed add further information. Many people will be looking for various different types of information about airline tickets and the existing page doesn't cover much in fact is virtually useless as it stands. Who wants to see a picture of an airline ticket! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 190.76.29.101 (talk • contribs) 18:51, 27 July 2007.

- This is an encyclopedia, and this article is unreferenced. If you can add references to this article, your contributions are greatly appreciated.
- The following is from WP:Spam: "Contribute cited text, not bare links. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a link farm. If you have a source to contribute, first contribute some facts that you learned from that source, then cite the source. Don't simply direct readers to another site for the useful facts; add useful facts to the article, then cite the site where you found them. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to funnel readers off Wikipedia"
- The following is from WP:External links under the heading Links normally to be avoided: "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article."
- Also, please read WP:NOT.
- I hope this explains things! --Busy Stubber 00:49, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Many, many pages have external links that do not have associated content in the wikipedia page. Therefore I think your system does not work otherwise they would have all been removed too. Also, if all links were references from associated content then there would be NO external links only references.
- So your comment does not make sense to me. The link complied with WP:External links as follows Such pages could contain further research that is accurate and on-topic; information that could not be added to the article for reasons such as copyright or amount of detail.
- At the end of the day it is all opinion and it would need an army of lawyers to fix all the contradictions correctly. Your opinion is apparently better than mine since you are "higher up". The link should be reinstated until wikipedia has a proper non-contradictory policy on the issue. --User:^^^^ 18:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Comparing to other articles is WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Also, there also is no one "higher up". About the link, we don't link to the booking site of KLM. What is the difference between that and your external link? The only difference is that it lists more than one carrier but it doesn't add anything to the article. Garion96 (talk) 19:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- KLM is a non-neutral airline company whereas this link is a neutral review site of the most popular terms to do with airline tickets, for example student airfare, airline tickets online, frequent flyer, one way flights, and scores of other topics, so it doesn't just list more than one carrier as you say. How can it not add anything to the article when it covers all those topics which people are actually looking for to do with airline tickets? User:^^^^ 21:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Text mismatching picture
[edit]The part "In the example above, Thai Airways is TG." has no matching picture. I understand the edit on 2014-06-13T01:42:55, done by "I am people like me" made the change. The user was identified as a sock puppet and is indefinitely blocked. IMO simple reverting should not be done, because useful edits were done after that. Not sure how to proceed - I might be misunderstanding the logs. Stevemiller (talk) 04:00, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
