I did think that Indonesian netizens would start vandalizing al-Kaf's Wikipedia article for its "unfair treatment". But to enwiki and even this talk page? Haha, I really can't believe it! ▪︎ Fazoffic ( ʖ╎ᓵᔑ∷ᔑ) 12:49, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take this review. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:07, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just a couple of immediate concerns, though I'm more than willing to work with you on these.

  • An active {{in use}} is not a great thing to have, and the article certainly can't pass GA with that still there. Ideally, that expansion would have been done before nominating the article for GA.
  • I have a few NPOV concerns, specifically that a majority of the lead and a majority of the prose in the body of the article are both dedicated to his "controversies" and unpopular rulings. This seems to me to give undue weight to one particular point of view.
  • More prose is needed in the "Career" section. Ideally, information which is present in the lead is also given (and cited) in the body of the article, so that you can leave citations out of the lead. In this case, a good chunk of the non-controversy information in the lead is not present in the body, and the vast majority of the "Career" section is just made up of tables.
  • Overall, some more biographical information would be very helpful, as would less focus solely on criticism (see WP:CRITS)

If you want to give this some work, just ping me when you've taken care of these bullet points and I'll have a look at the prose and references. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 20:36, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@OpalYosutebito: quick ping to make sure that you've seen this and are interested in moving forward. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:57, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@OpalYosutebito: no response from nominator in eleven days (and eight days since ping), so I'm going to go ahead and fail this. Article is quite a ways from GA and is desperately in need of prose. I'd encourage you to follow some of the bullet points above and keep working on this with an emphasis on prose rather than loads of tables. Best of luck.
