Hello. Thank you for your contribution to the draft. No, the enzyme acetyl-CoA synthetase and acyl-CoA synthetases are not the same. The enzyme acetyl-CoA synthetase only activates the substrate acetate, while acyl-CoA synthetases represent a superordinate enzyme class, which currently consists of about 27 enzymes that can activate various substrates, mainly fatty acids, but other substrates also occur.
