Meaning of "Abelmoschus" and aroma

[edit]

Abelmoschus means "white musk" and refers to a major component of the aroma produced by the seeds. This Article is in sore need of help as so far it makes no mention whatsoever of any aroma or the fact that the seeds have been treasured for centuries as one of very few sources in the plant kingdom of an aroma in the category perfumers and flavorists describe as convincingly musk-like. There is a long tradition of use of these seeds in perfumery and flavoring. In India the seeds are used to flavor coffee and in the production of fragrant oils for personal adornment and incense. How embarrassing that, after several years, this information was never added! 173.89.236.187 (talk) 00:34, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
