Lyrics interpretation
[edit]"The song's lyrics deal with demonic possession, black magic, and temptation to commit acts of evil."
Well sure, that could be one version. But here's another one:
"One of the best power ballads that Priest ever wrote. It's a love song, and we've had many of those - we just don't mention the word 'love'. " - Rob Halford, Metal Hammer, January 2004 81.232.114.123 14:57, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Change it to whatever you want (well, you know what I mean). I just wrote what the lyrics seemed to be talking about, I didn't look at any references or anything.

Fair use rationale for Image:Judas priest - painkiller.jpg
[edit]Image:Judas priest - painkiller.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Progressive Metal??
[edit]yeah...judas priest is one of my favourite bands, but for me(as big fan of bands like dream theater and angra, which are true progmetal bands) I think that isnt the right genre to "the touch of evil", which is true HEAVY METAL!!! JUDAS ROCKS! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 201.254.50.204 (talk)
- I love Judas Priest as much as you do, but I think this song might pass as progressive metal. I listen to Dream Theater too, and if you think of it, this is kinda similar to some of their stuff. On the page for Priest, where it talks about the Painkiller album, it calls the song a "pseudo ballad". I figured if you could call it that, you could call it prog metal.

Inspiration for Title
[edit]I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that the title was inspired by the 1958 Orson Welles film of the same name, but so far all I've found appears to be speculation or stated without attribution. Does anyone have a source for this? - Mark Dixon (talk) 05:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
