Teams

[edit]
  • "announced the four second-tier UCI Professional Continental teams given wildcard invitations," - that were given wildcard invitations
  • "Each squad was allowed a maximum of nine riders, resulting in a start list total of 198 riders." - reptition of "riders"

Pre-race favourites

[edit]
  • "In the lead up to the 2017 Tour de France, Chris Froome (Team Sky) was seen by many" - clarify that "many" should be many pundits
  • "Aru started the Tour sharing team leadership" - leadership of the team
  • "His form in the 2017 season before the Tour included winning the one-day race Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne " - one-day Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne race
  • Abu Dhabi Tour should be directly linked to 2017 Abu Dhabi Tour

Route and stages

[edit]
  • I don't think that the United Kingdom should be linked
  • "with stages based in Düsseldorf; the fourth time" - a simple comma would suffice in place of the semi-colon
  • "the fourth time the Tour has begun in Germany and the first since 1987. " - had, and the same issue is in the first image in this sub-section
  • "the finish at La Planche des Belles Filles." - at the
  • "designated 2017 European Capital of Sport, " - designated the 2017 European Capital of Sport,
  • "The final stage started in Montgeron," - began so we avoid the reptition that comes later in the sentence
  • The final paragraph has the stage numbers in numerals rather than written out. This has to be addressed.

Race overview

[edit]
  • "to take the win 37 seconds ahead of second placed" - second-placed
  • "first was in the peloton around 1 km (0.6 mi) to go" - left
  • Put the 6mm figure into a convert template and have the figure also represented in inches
  • "The following day was the Tour's first rest rest day." - remove the second "rest"
  • "with Froome holding a 23 second advantage." - 23-second

Classification leadership

[edit]
  • "while the best young rider and most combative rider got €20,000" - try collected in place of "got" for variety

UCI rankings

[edit]
  • "The points accrued by Chris Froome moved him up to sixth from twentieth" - moved him from twentieth to sixth
