Generally, high quality bowl articles (i.e. 2008 Orange Bowl, a featured article), include significant summations of the respective teams' seasons entering the bowl game. I will stipulate that this article and 2013 New Orleans Bowl, at which you posted the same comment, include lengthy team summaries that obviously will need to be copyedited, but in and of itself, context of the teams and their seasons is useful.
