  • "Damage in neighboring Jefferson County was estimated at $200,000" — Based on the source, the part in italics could be rewritten a bit.
  • "Annexes, chimneys, and porches were ripped off homes" – The source does not mention annexes.

Summary: The article is well written, succinct, and reliably sourced; plagiarism is unapparent. Essential details are covered, and formatting is consistent. The article meets the GA criteria. CapeVerdeWave (talk) 09:35, 14 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

CapeVerdeWave as mentioned on WT:GAN, can you show a spot-check has been done? Just mention the sources that were checked to see if the refs agree with the text preceding it. DoctorWhoFan91 (talk) 08:15, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
DoctorWhoFan91 I checked the following:
  • "It transitioned into an extratropical cyclone on October 9" – The source agrees.
  • "Damage totaled approximately $3.5 million" – Ditto.
  • "It produced 28 mph (45 km/h) wind gusts in Jacksonville, Florida" – The details match.
  • "Meteorologists José Fernández-Partagás and Henry F. Díaz noted that the bulletin does not explicitly discuss a hurricane and argued that the agency likely issued the warning for high winds due to a weather pattern unrelated to the hurricane" – This also checks out.
  • "This number is disputed, as the Monthly Weather Review recorded 223 fatalities but The New York Times published a death toll of 600" – So does this (cf. the appendix).
Is this sample representative? CapeVerdeWave (talk) 05:28, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
