The Article Name

[edit]

The Article Name figures as the 162nd Turkoman Division but then it is written mainly (I guess only, please double check)of the 162nd Turkistan Division. Is anyone objecting to a move to 162nd Turkistan Division? Paradise Chronicle (talk) 11:26, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

162nd Turkoman Division162nd Turkestan Division – The article uses "Turkistan" throughout, never "Turkoman". Sources for article use "Turkestan" or "Turkistan". My WP:BEFORE Google Books search shows three or four results using "Turkoman" but far more using "Turkestan" (or, slightly less, "Turkistan"). User:Paradise Chronicle commented about this on the talk page in December 2019, but got no response.

The article has never been moved. WP:Naming conventions (military units) § Divisions and brigades implies "Turkestan" should not be in parentheses, even though some sources use that style. 85.238.91.38 (talk) 20:01, 27 September 2020 (UTC) Relisting. SITH (talk) 12:53, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Overlapping topics?

[edit]

Could someone with a command of the topic please clarify (in the intros of the respective articles or with hatnotes) the relationship between the 162nd Turkoman Division (de), the 162nd Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) (de) and the Turkestan Legion (de)? Thanks in advance. —  AjaxSmack  22:02, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
