So much knowledge lost because drug addicts are not seens as guinea pigs. Sorry to any italians , not sorry to amy cops. They wouldnt get it anyway. 3dempty (talk) 19:39, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In the US the cops seem to be the primary group selling the especially dangerous fentanyls, in at least several major instances. Makes sense because the cops go sell carfentanil laced vicodin to somebody at a high school, it gets sold again, a bunch of students die, the same cops loudly proclaim, "AN HORRIBLE PROBLEM WE'VE GOT HERE, WHAT? (I don't know why they became British there for a second) IF ONLY WE HAD MORE FUNDING TO TAKE DOWN THE DEALERS!", and then the government gives them a bunch of money and military grade weapons. Then they raid the people they sold the fentanyl to, enact civil forfeiture on all the money and stuff they bought; if you're not familiar this is an obscure US law that allows inanimate objects to be charged with crimes and confiscated; the money disappears into police coffers and property is auctioned before the person can defend their money in court, and they can't afford to defend themselves anyway because all their money was taken; they'll get a mandatory minimum of life, probably. The cops then re-sell the remaining fentanyl laced vicodin to another unsuspecting sap.
Then, oops, sometimes they get caught doing it and we find out a single department in California imported upwards of 200kg of ultra-potent fentanyl derivatives. I'm sure the cops in question got at least 2 weeks suspended with pay which will really teach them a lesson. Once they're back on duty they shoot a black guy to relieve the tension and plant some of the fentanyl on him to give them an excuse to raid houses in the ghetto and go all American History X on some random dudes.
Meanwhile methadone is still heavily used here for heroin "treatment" despite the fact that we have suboxone clinics and although it's not directly reported when I did the math on the CDC numbers for opioid deaths - heroin & fentanyl deaths - acetominophen fatalities I came up with about 1/3rd of all deaths being a result of methadone...
