Somdutta Singh is an Indian businesswoman, angel investor and author.[1][2] She is known for facilitating the creation of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) by the Government of India in collaboration with NITI Aayog.[3][4]

Early Life

Singh was born in Kolkata, India. Her mother and father are doctors. [5] She pursued Masters of Business Administration at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. She later moved to the USA to pursue PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[6]

Career

Singh started her career working in the marketing divisions of Akamai and Red Hat.[7]

In 2013, Singh founded her first company Unspun Consulting Group, a technology-based marketing company. The company was based in Bangalore. She served as the founder and Chief of Marketing.[8]

Singh also founded the IRA - House of Designers, a crowdsourced fashion company. The online and offline marketplace allowed designers to submit their designs. Upon approval, these designs are sent to manufacturing or scrapped. The company had two stores in Kolkata and Bangalore[9]

In 2018, Singh founded and is the chief executive officer of Assiduus Global Inc.

Personal life

Singh is married to Magnus Tuxen. Tuyen sits on the board at Assiduus Global Inc and serves as the company's legal advisor[10]

In 2021, she ranked in Times 40 Under 40 and featured in Fortune India's 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen edition.[11]

In 2022, Singh won the AI Entrepreneur award at the Women in AI Leadership Awards[12]

In 2023, Singh has been awarded Champions of Change for driving social development in India.[13] [14][15]

She was named among India's 100 most influential women innovators and entrepreneurs in 2023 by Business World[5]
