Sandilianwali سندیلیانوالی / Sandhilianwali سندھیلیانوالی is a small town of Pir Mahal Tehsil in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is near the Ravi River. Sandhilianwali is surrounded by green fields.
Famous Pirs such as Karam Ali Shah Bukhari (migrated to Dhole Depalpur tehsil), and Imam Shah Bukhari were born here who were brothers.
Darbar e Qutbia, located in the town of Sandhilianwali, is one of the oldest Muslim shrines in Central Punjab. It houses the remains of Sufi saint Syed Qutab Ali Shah Bukhari and is from the bloodline of Imam Shah Bukhari. Pir Syed Ali Baba, former MPA from Muslim League N, sixth in the lineage of Qutb Ali Shah Bukhari is the guardian of the shrine. Every year on the 4th,5th, and 6th of October, the Urs (annual death anniversary) of Syed Qutb is celebrated with great ethos and the devotees from far and wide flock in numbers to participate in the rituals.
As Urs goes on, a fair on the outskirts of the shrine also provides amusement to the locals where people could eat from makeshift stalls, and do shopping of their liking with children making the most of the occasion by fun and merry making.
A recently concluded, Abrar Challenge Trophy tournament of tent pegging, from 29th of November to 2nd December 2024, under the tutelage of Syed Ali Baba amassed a huge gathering from all over the Pakistan as teams from all over the country participated in the challenge. Some renowned political and religious figures like, Yousaf Raza Gilani, his sons, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan (Governor of Punjab) and Sahibzada Muhammad Ali were the notable attendees of the occasion.
