Rosette (award)
Appearance

A rosette is an award made from ribbon and presented to mark an achievement or special event. Such ribbons usually have a pin, brooch or bridle clip as a fastener with which the award can be attached to clothing, animals, walls, or other surfaces.
Rosettes are typically round with a looping ribbon design, creating the appearance of a flower. Their use as awards was influenced by Napoleon, who used rosettes as decorations of the Legion of Honour; this itself was influenced by the cockades of the French Revolution.[1]
