The People's Liberation Army Rocket Force Non-Commissioned Officers School, usually called the Rocket Force NCO School, is a military specialist academy of division grade under the PLARF, responsible for the training of NCOs for the force. It is located in Weifang Prefecture, Shandong.[1]

History

  • September 1970, it was set up as the 814 regiment of the Second Artillery corps in Shiping County, Yunnan.[2]
  • November 1971, it was moved to Xi'an and subordinated to the Second Artillery Engineering University[2]
  • April 1976 it was reorganized as the Second Artillery Training Corps (二炮训练团).[2]
  • August 1976, it was moved to the Second Artillery Command Academy in Wuhan 兵指挥学院[2]
  • January 1978, it was moved to Qingzhou, Weifang in Shandong province.[2]
  • March 1993, it was reorganized into the Second Artillery Command Academy Qingzhou Sub-academy.[2]
  • July 1999 it was made independent as the Second Artillery Qingzhou NCO School (二炮青州士官学校).[2][3]
  • 2009, the first class of non-commissioned officers graduated.[4][5]
  • January 2016,after the Second Artillery Corps was renamed the PLARF, the school was renamed the "PLARF Vocational and Engineering College".[6] Soon afterwards, it was renamed the PLARF Engineering University NCO College.[7]
  • 2017, as part of the 2015 military reforms, it was re-established as the PLARF NCO College.[8]
