Richard G. Pert (born 22 January 1981) is an English chess player.
Career
[edit]In 2013, he wrote a book on the Trompowsky Attack, which received praise from grandmaster Glenn Flear.[1]
He is the 2016 Essex Blitz Champion and the 2017 Essex Champion.[2] He is also a chess coach at Brentwood School.[3]
In August 2021, he won the British Blitz Championship. The event saw the strongest field of the British Online Chess Championships, and included strong grandmaster Jon Speelman.[3]
In January 2024, he provided commentary for the Caplin Hastings International Chess Congress.[4]
Personal life
[edit]He is the twin brother of chess grandmaster Nicholas Pert.[5] He is married with a daughter, who also plays chess and was British U8 Girls Champion in 2016.[3][2]
