Rajkiya Engineering College, Azamgarh also known as REC Azamgarh (formerly Manyawar Kanshiram Engineering College of Information Technology) is a government engineering college located in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) , Lucknow , and offers undergraduate programs in various disciplines of engineering. REC Azamgarh was established by Government of Uttar Pradesh under special component plan in year 2010, the college has started offering B.Tech Programme in three disciplines – Information Technology (IT), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Civil Engineering (CE) with intake of 60 seats in each branches from the session 2010–11.
History
[edit]Rajkiya Engineering College, Azamgarh was established in 2010 and was formerly known as Manyawar Kanshiram Engineering College of Information Technology. Until 2016 it operated from Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology in Gorakhpur. From 2015 to 2018 the director was Dhirendra Kumar Singh, and from February 2018 to April 2021 was Satya Prakash Pandey and from April 2021 onwards Dr. Bipin Kumar Tripathi is serving as the Director of the college.[1]

[edit]Admissions to REC Azamgarh are conducted through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains or the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE), now merged into JEE. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university and state government for admission to the undergraduate programs.
