Instructions

Candidates for the portal's Did You Know section need to be suggested under the date the article was created or expanded. Note that it is the date when the article is created or expanded under which you need to place your article and not the date you submit it here. Following are the ground rules that need to be addressed before you submit an article:

• Suggested fact (the 'hook'):
  • must be from a Pakistan-related topic,
  • must be from articles not more than five days old. Any article that has not been created or expanded within the last five days would be rejected,
  • should not be from articles marked as stubs, and
  • should contain more than 1,500 characters (around 1.5 kilobytes) in main body text (ignoring infoboxes, categories, references, lists, and tables). This is a mandatory minimum; in practice, articles longer than 1,500 characters may still be rejected as too short, at the discretion of the selecting administrators.

• Suggested hook should be:
  • interesting to draw in a variety of readers,
  • short and concise (fewer than about 200 characters, including spaces),
  • neutral,
  • definite facts that are mentioned in the article, and
  • preferably cited in the article with an inline citation.

Nominations

Anyone can nominate an article. In any case, the articles may be created by the person nominating the article or by someone else. If the person nominating is the author of the article then the nomination would be a self-nomination.

• Please sign the nomination, giving due credit to other editors if relevant. For example:

Selection process

Following symbols would identify the status of selection of your articles by the administrators.
