Week 1

The Blueline Niger/Bénirail locomotive number 33201 and its train stand at Niamey railway station, Niger, the starting point of the Niamey-Dosso railway. Although the railway was officially opened in January 2016, this train has never left the station.

Week 9

Restored Garratt steam locomotive no. 6029 hauls a load test train over the Queanbeyan River bridge in September 2014. The locomotive was originally built for the New South Wales Government Railways by Beyer, Peacock and Company in 1956.

Week 11

A passenger train crosses a bridge of the Staatsspoorwegen at Tjisomang, Preanger Regency, West Java, in September 1948. The three pillars with heights of 52, 64 and 78 meters (171, 210 and 256 ft) were built in 1931.

Week 13
April 1

The cab and firebox of steam locomotive number 18 427 are separated from the boiler while undergoing an overhaul at Bochum Dahlhausen Railway Museum in 1974.

A train crosses the Borovnica Viaduct in a lithograph depiction in 1857. The viaduct, in present-day Slovenia, was badly damaged during World War II and dismantled soon afterward.

Week 25

The broad gauge, oil fired, class HGS 2-8-0 steam locomotive number 2216, with number 2264 at the rear, perform a run-past for photographers with a charter train at Shahgai, on the Khyber Pass, Pakistan, in December 1993. Local tribesmen are asserting their right to free travel on the trains; a condition of the railway being constructed through their land.
