Nae'Qwan Tomlin (born December 10, 2000)[1] is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Monroe CC Tribunes, Chipola Indians, Kansas State Wildcats and the Memphis Tigers.
High school and college career
[edit]In high school, Tomlin attended Urban Assembly school in New York City, but didn't play basketball.[2][3]
College career
[edit]Tomlin began his college career at the junior college level, playing for the Monroe CC Tribunes[4] before spending two seasons with the Chipola Indians.[5] Afterwards, he transferred to the Kansas State Wildcats, helping the team advance to the Elite Eight in 2023. In his final season, he transferred mid-season to the Memphis Tigers, playing 21 games and averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds, the latter the second most on the team.[6]
Professional career
[edit]After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA draft, Tomlin joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2024 NBA Summer League[7] and on September 24, 2024, he signed with the team.[6][8] However, he was waived that day[9] and on October 26, he joined the Cleveland Charge.[10] On February 20, 2025 in a game against the Brooklyn Nets, Tomlin scored his first NBA points as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Personal life
[edit]Tomlin is the son of Aisha Ishmael and has two siblings. He majored in social transformation studies.[2][3]
