Masjid An-Nahdhah, (Jawi: مسجد النهضة; Malay for An-Nahdhah Mosque) is a mosque located in Bishan. It is the sixth mosque to be built under the third phase of the Mosque Building Fund, first opening in 2006. The mosque also contains the Harmony Centre, which contains exhibits on Islamic history and culture with a focus on religious unity.
History
[edit]Masjid An-Nahdhah was the sixth mosque in Singapore to be constructed under the third phase of the Mosque Building Fund, an initiative from the Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).[2] The mosque's architecture was done by architectural firm Consultants Incorporated Architects & Planners (CIAP) Architects Pte Ltd, who designed the mosque building in a modern and urban style.[3][4] The purpose of the mosque's construction was to serve as a communal mosque (jami') for the residents of the Bishan neighbourhood.[3][4]

The mosque is built in a modern and urban architectural style.[4] It has at least three accessible levels in total. Aside from hosting the Harmony Centre, the mosque also has spaces for classrooms and a basement.[3]
Harmony Centre

The Harmony Centre is located within the grounds of Masjid An-Nahdhah.[5][6] The centre has two stories and contains exhibits detailing Islamic history and culture, as well as biographies on historical Muslim figures.[5][6][7] The aim of the Harmony Centre is to provide peaceful interfaith coexistence amongst people of different religions, as well as dispel doubts and myths about the religion of Islam.[5][6][7][8] The centre is currently directed by Muhammad Fazalee Ja'afar, who started his role as head director in April 2013.[9]
