Keeley Sherar is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Sherar was recruited by Carlton with the 11th pick in the 2021 AFL Women's draft.[1]

AFL Women's career

Sherar debuted for the Blues in the third round of 2022 AFL Women's season 6.[2] On debut, she collected 5 disposals.[3] The following round, she earned herself a rising star nomination after collecting 19 disposals and 4 score involvements against North Melbourne,[4] her performance also earning her coaches votes.[5] After suffering a broken hand, she missed the next two matches to return in round 7.[6]

Honours and achievements

Arriving at Carlton through the 2021 AFLW Draft, Sherar has impressed from the beginning earning a Rising Star nomination in just her second career game back in season six.

It was a breakout year for Shear in 2023, with the young midfielder earning a maiden nomination in the 2023 All-Australian squad.

Making an appearance in all 10 games in 2023 with the Blues, Sherar ranked fifth in the competition for tackles during the home-and-away season, averaging 8.4 per game.

The midfielder has made a name for herself on the field with her two-way running making her a dangerous prospect to any opposition.
