Herat (Persian: هرات)[a] is a city in the Central District of Khatam County, Yazd province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4]
Demographics

[edit]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 10,795 in 2,751 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 12,392 people in 3,357 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 13,032 people in 3,834 households.[2]
