Hannah Phillips (born December 11, 1999[2]) is a British YouTuber, activist and politician currently serving as a member of the Lymington and Pennington Town Council.[3]

Personal Life

[edit]

Phillips was born on December 11, 1999 in Portsmouth, England.

She has been the target of significant harassment from the general public.[4] In 2019, Pink News wrote an article about comments she receives, [5] highlighting regular death threats.

Career

[edit]

Phillips started the YouTube channel HannahPhillipsReal on July 26th, 2015. On the channel, she posts informational content about transgender issues.

In a 2019 investigative report by the BBC regarding care for transgender youth, she reported that she felt no regret in her medical transition - and that ultimately, nothing would have been able to stop it from happening.[6]

In 2020, she founded New Forest Pride, a non-profit organization responsible for organizing the event of the same name.[7][8]

In 2023, she ran for a seat on both the Lymington District Council and the Lymington and Pennington Town Council. She received 586 votes in the District Council election, resulting in a defeat. However, she received 306 votes in the Town Council election, winning a victory against incumbent Alexander Hoare.[9] She is the first openly transgender person to serve in this position.[citation needed]
