The village was established by Zamindar Firoz Khan in 1640s, who was a grandson of Sarkar Dewan Quttul Khan Zamindar Jagirdar taluka Seorai and great-grandson of Narhar Khan founder of Kamsar. The village got its name as Fufuao because as per the beliefs, a daughter of Daud Khan's family of Dewaitha was married to Firoz Khan or his early family members , because of which, people of Dewaitha started calling it, Fufuao which translates to "the house of Phuphi" meaning "house of Aunt".
